Scoring System

Unlike other clubs,

Bow Mar scores the skipper... not the boat.

This is because many of us race club check-out boats,

and we are almost never in the same boat each weekend.

Likewise, many of our two-handed boats

trade off crew each weekend.

So, including the crew in the score does not work.

So we score only the skipper of the boat.

That means if you have your eye on a club trophy,

you need to take the helm,

and skipper often!

The summer series is scored by the

Low Point System

1st place = 1, 2nd place = 2, etc.

A boat that did not start, did not finish,

retired or was disqualified

shall be scored points for the finishing place

one more than the

number of boats entered in the series.

World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing

2025-2028

...If you don’t show up for a race day,

your points will be the total no. of boats in your fleet,

PLUS 1.

It pays to show up!
